Un sole vecchio e grasso


Un sole vecchio e grasso, ma detto con affetto - sia ben chiaro - e anche con un po' di rimpianto per i bei momenti vissuti sotto quel sole. E' in uno dei dischi più famosi dei Pink Floyd, Atom Heart Mother.  (qui)

(il tentativo di traduzione è mio, serve solo per evitare di andare a prendere il dizionario; è difficile, quasi impossibile, rendere come si deve il testo: per esempio "fat old sun" sono solo tre sillabe, in italiano ne servono almeno sei...)
(Quando quel sole vecchio e grasso cade nel cielo, gli uccelli della sera d'estate stanno chiamando. Il tuono dell'estate cronometra l'anno, il suono della musica nelle mie orecchie. Campane distanti, l'erba appena falciata odora dolcemente. Lungo il fiume mano nella mano, mi fa cullare e mi fa lasciar andare. E, se ti siedi, non fare rumore. Stacca i piedi dalla terra. E, se ascolti come cade la calda notte, il suono d'argento che proviene da un tempo così strano, canta per me, canta per me. Quando quel sole vecchio e grasso cade nel cielo, gli uccelli della sera d'estate stanno chiamando. Risate di bambini nelle mie orecchie, l'ultimo sole che scompare. E, se ti siedi, non far rumore, stacca i piedi dalla terra.)

    1. io sono uno di quelli che ha abbandonato i Pink Floyd dopo Ummagumma, o magari dopo Meddle. Qui c'era ancora un po' dello spirito di Syd Barrett...
